Drill Set Up

  • Requires 1-2 players.
  • An object to be used as a marker for the back third of the court.

How to run it

  1. The player serves aiming to land the ball beyond the marker object, into the back third of the court.
  2. This keeps the receiving player back to hit the return, rather than approaching the kitchen quickly.
  3. Repeat 10 times.
  4. Switch roles.

Coaching Points

  • Consistency beyond the marker is the priority - focus on depth over pace
