Somerset Pickleball Club
Somerset Pickleball Club is one of the most active pickleball communities in the county, founded in 2025 by a group of passionate players with a shared mission to grow the sport in the local area. Based in Taunton, the club has quickly established itself as a thriving hub for pickleball in Somerset, with over 150 members and up to eight sessions a week across four venues: Blackbrook Sports Centre, Wellington Sports Centre, Wellsprings Leisure Centre and UCS Sports Hall.
Sessions cater for a wide range of abilities, with dedicated mixed-level, intermediate, higher intermediate and advanced options throughout the week. Wednesday evening is the club's popular club night, a buzzing social session welcoming all levels. Members enjoy unlimited access to sessions including club night, friendly matches against other clubs and the option to represent the club in competitions. Private and group coaching is also available on request from the club's two qualified coaches.
New players are welcomed with a straightforward joining process. Those new to pickleball are invited to email the club, where one of the qualified coaches will arrange a taster session before membership begins. Once joined, members gain access to the booking system and are added to the Beginners community WhatsApp group to help arrange games and settle into the club. Mixed-level sessions on Mondays and Thursdays provide a great starting point for those finding their feet.
