Pickledilly Circus
Pickledilly Circus is a community pickleball club based in Milton Keynes, founded by Paul and Julia Oprea, and inspired by their son Sebastian, after the family discovered pickleball and fell for the sport almost immediately. Within months all three were competing across the UK, and the club was born from a desire to share that passion with as many people as possible. Structured as a Community Interest Company, every penny generated goes back into growing the sport: facilities, coaching, equipment and junior development, not into anyone's pocket.
The club is built on a simple belief that pickleball should be accessible to everyone, regardless of age, background or ability. Sessions are kept affordable to cover costs and nothing more, with club membership free to join. Paddles are available to borrow for those without their own equipment. Sessions run across several venues in Milton Keynes throughout the week, including Saturday social play at Shenley Brook End and a dedicated ladies-only session every Friday. Booking is first-come, first-served.
Paul and Julia are both Pickleball England Level 1 certified coaches and active tournament players, bringing hands-on competitive experience directly into their coaching. The club offers a structured pathway for players looking to develop and compete, with support entering Pickleball England events and a growing calendar of club tournaments including Pickle Treat, the Easter Cup, the Winter Cup, the Summer Cup and the Festival of Courts 2026.
Junior development is a particular passion of the club. Dedicated junior sessions are available for all ages, led by DBS-checked and safeguarding-trained coaches, with pathways into Pickleball England junior competitions. Sebastian Oprea, who competes at national level, is proof of the club's commitment to elite junior development. Juniors at Pickledilly Circus compete on equal terms with adults, bracketed by skill rather than age.
