Exeter's pickleball community is one of the most active in the South West - anchored by a club that has introduced the sport to over 500 people since 2023, and spreading out into the villages and towns of east and south Devon.
Here's where to find your game.
Exeter Pickleball Club - the heart of the scene
Venues: Wonford Sports Centre and Riverside Leisure Centre, Exeter
Before anything else, it's worth knowing about the club that has done more than anything else to build the Exeter pickleball scene. Founded on 13th March 2023, Exeter Pickleball Club runs nine regular weekly sessions across two city-centre venues, with members ranging from 8 to 88 years old and qualified coaches at every session.
The club has produced medal-winners at the English Nationals and English Open, hosts dedicated social, competitive and coached sessions, and is actively fundraising for a purpose-built pickleball facility in Exeter. It's one of the most complete club offerings in the South West - and the obvious starting point for anyone new to the sport in the city.
