The VenueThe festival will be held at the Hertfordshire Sports Village which is part of the University of Hertfordshire de Havilland Campus in Hatfield. This venue will be familiar to many since it has been used for the Hertfordshire Pickleball Festival in previous years, the Hertfordshire Tournival and the Hertfordshire Mixed Doubles Tournament. We will have 11 courts on the day in 3 adjoining halls. There is a café adjacent to the halls for light refreshments.Event FormatThis is a Festival and as such all play will be of a social nature with no round robins, leagues or knockouts and no trophies or medals will be awarded.At check-in each player will be given a magnet with their name and chosen skill category on it. These will be used to control the scheduling of games in conjunction with magnet boards. Although players will be asked to specify their skill category as part of the online registration process this can be changed during the day if required.All games will be doubles but there may be capacity for some singles towards the end of the day.Taped lines will be used to create full size NVZs, and the PENN indoor ball will be used for all games.Event ScheduleCheck-in will open at 08.30 and the courts will be in use continuously until 17.30. Players can take breaks at any time by simply removing their magnets from the boards. Registration will close at 23.55 on 1st March 2026, or before at the discretion of the organisers if the maximum number of entrants has been reached.The registration fee is £35.Travel and AccommodationThe venue is easily accessible by car being close to the A1(M), just 5 miles from the M25 and there is on-site parking which will be free on the day. The post code is AL10 9EU.Hatfield railway station is served by Thameslink trains and the journey from Kings Cross takes 25 minutes, however the venue is a taxi ride from the station.As the Festival is a one-day event it is expected that most players will travel to and from the venue on the day however the Comet Hotel is a short walk from the Sports Village. https://comethotel.co.uk/
