Fleet Aces Pickleball Club
Fleet Aces Pickleball Club was born over a pint in the Foresters pub in Fleet in July 2018, when Tracy and Andy Coult, together with fellow coach Andre Strachan, decided to bring pickleball to their local community. Tracy and Andy had first discovered the sport at David Lloyd in 2017 through the Farnham Picklers, and after a year of travelling to play, resolved to set up something closer to home. Tracy completed her IPTPA coaching certification in May 2018, and by the end of the club's first year, 109 players had taken part in sessions across five venues, with regular internal tournaments, friendlies against local clubs and club sponsorship already in place.
Since then, Fleet Aces has grown into one of the most well-established pickleball clubs in the region, with over 100 members and a thriving community of regular guests. Founded as a not-for-profit club with three core objectives: encouraging the growth of pickleball, strengthening bonds of friendship and respect, and having fun. The club has remained true to those principles throughout its development. Fleet Aces is widely regarded not just as a club but as a community, built on the contributions of its members, committee volunteers and coaches.
The club operates a structured coaching pathway for players of all abilities, from complete beginners through to advanced level. Early sessions cover the fundamentals of technique and court etiquette, while later sessions introduce tactical decision-making and gameplay strategy. Coaching sessions are frequently available to members at a subsidised rate, with sign-up managed through the club website and Spond. The club uses Matchup as its standard playlist tool to ensure fair and well-balanced sessions, and operates an open ranking process that allows players to track their progress and trial higher groups through a self-assessment pathway.
Fleet Aces works in partnership with mental health charity Sport in Mind, providing free weekly pickleball sessions at Hart Leisure Centre for anyone with a mental health condition, supported by nine club volunteers. A further session at Farnham Leisure Centre offers pickleball alongside table tennis and badminton.
All sessions are booked in advance. Those interested in membership, guest access or beginner coaching courses are encouraged to register their interest via the club's contact page, with membership under regular review. Full session details and venues can be found on the Fleet Aces website.
